Cedar Ridge Inn Leadership Team
Administrator - Lisa Higgins - Lisa has worked hard in her dedication to elder care. She started with C & G Health Care Management in February 1997 as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Lake Hills Inn, our “sister” facility in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Over the years Lisa learned many roles in the facility to include Social Services and Medical Records. Lisa was honored by the Arizona Health Care Association with the “Support Services of the Year” award in 2004. Lisa’s tenacity and sights on her goals got her through college, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Lisa felt strongly that her hard work and loyalty to C & G Health Care Management would pay off, and it has. She moved to Farmington, New Mexico in 2006 to proudly take on the responsibilities as Administrator of Cedar Ridge Inn. Lisa expressed it this way, “I am thankful for the support and encouragement I have received during my journey from my family, my friends and the management staff.” Here are the next goals that Lisa has set. “I want this facility to be the Model of Quality Health Care in the state of New Mexico. It is my hope that Cedar Ridge Inn is not only a place for our residents and family members to call home, but that Cedar Ridge Inn is the place people want to work and strive every day to achieve higher levels of excellence.” We must share our special pride that Lisa Higgins was chosen as 2011 “Administrator of the Year” by New Mexico Health Care Association!
Director of Nursing - Marsha Padilla, RN - Like many of our staff members, Marsha has always loved working with elders. Growing up in the southern New Mexico community of True or Consequences, Marsha jumped into home health as a caregiver after high school. She slowly made her way north to Farmington and joined the Cedar Ridge Inn family in 2011 as a graduate nurse. Once an RN, she gave her heart and soul to the residents in our Alzheimer’s Unit. As Director of Nursing, Marsha has designed an innovative communication/teaching board for the nursing staff to best track progress in preventing falls and urinary tract infections. Marsha’s home life includes reading, gardening and caring for her pet tortoise. This little lady also plays tuba in the San Juan College symphony orchestra! Marsha loves her Cedar Ridge Inn family. She truly gives her all to make our home the shining star of Farmington, Where Quality in Life is Most Important.
Administrative Assistant - Wendy Gill - Wendy is truly at home. She appreciates, enjoys and looks forward to seeing the residents each day. A good listener, Wendy cherishes hearing the stories shared about family, tales of their youth and fascinating life experiences of our residents. Having lived and worked in the Farmington, New Mexico community for over 20 years, Wendy completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Studies from Arkansas Tech University in 2012. Born in California, Wendy recalls a childhood in many locations as her father worked for US Forest Service. She attended high school in nearby Cuba, New Mexico. Her work experience includes ten years for the State of New Mexico in the Department of Environment. The mother of five children, Wendy feels so blessed to spend time with her six grandchildren. She loves to play in the dirt (garden) and crochet in her spare time. We are so glad Wendy has belonged to us since March 2014 - she is a ‘keeper’! Thank you, Wendy, for sharing your spirit and instilling confidence in the residents and their families that Cedar Ridge Inn is Where Quality in Life is Most Important.
Care Plan Coordinator – Trish Bird, LPN - Trish has worked for Cedar Ridge Inn since 2003. Like many devoted folks on our staff, Trish started here as a Certified Nursing Assistant earning additional responsibilities as Restorative Aide and Medication Aide. In 2007, Trish realized her goal to become a nurse and now enjoys the coordination with residents, families and all involved medical professionals to plan our approach to each individual’s care. Trish is not finished with setting goals. She wants to further her education in the next year.
Activity Director – Sharon Rojeski - Sharon joined us in 2006, first trying out the Dietary Department as a Dietary Aide, moving shortly to Activity Assistant and earning the Activity Director responsibilities. We are proud that Sharon stretched herself to become a medical professional by completing the Certified Nursing Assistant course in 2010. She feels this training has given her confidence to better assist the residents in their daily lives. Sharon enjoys the challenge of learning new things in the activity realm, too. She brings fresh activity ideas to the residents with satisfying results – “Seeing the smiles on the residents’ faces is very rewarding”. Sharon values the relationships she builds with the residents. “They have so many wonderful stories to tell and I am so blessed that I am a person they can share them with.” Sharon has expressed her hope to continue to touch the lives of the residents who call Cedar Ridge Inn their home. She knows the value of friendship with the residents and wants our volunteer community to continue to grow and flourish.
Social Services Director – Jackie Gray, C.N.A. - Jackie has been a part of the C & G Health Care Management family since 1999 when she joined the staff of our “sister” facility, The Valley Inn. She learned the dietary needs of residents as a Dietary Aide. As our Dietary Director, Jackie attacked the issue of undesired or unplanned weight loss for our residents with homemade cinnamon rolls! The aroma therapy sparks not only appetites but also fond memories for our residents. Jackie has been an exceptional team member serving our residents as Medical Records Manager, Activity Director, Dietary Aide, Dietary Assistant Supervisor, Dietary Director since 2006 and now, the gateway for new residents and their families as Social Services Director. As an important part of our philosophy, Jackie completed the Certified Nursing Assistant training to better care for the daily needs of our residents. Jackie is proud of our Restaurant Style Dining Program that she initiated in 2009. Residents make their own meal choices from a full menu, including a “special of the day”. Every employee of the facility is assigned times throughout each day to act as hostess and server. This affords interaction with residents on a more personal level, helping staff build meaningful relationships with our precious people. Residents love the autonomy to choose when they eat and all concur this program has been a big success! Jackie’s mission is always focused on resident choice and ultimately, their happiness. She has proven to make the quality of our residents' lives most important. Jackie is devoted to our residents - she makes the perfect 'gateway' for families seeking the best care in Farmington, New Mexico.
Medical Records Manager – Kimberly Lapahie, C.N.A. - Kim has learned much about quality care since joining the staff in May 2007. Medical Records management requires close attention to detail, cooperation with not only facility staff, but also the medical community that serves the residents’ needs. Kim values our motto – where quality in life is most important. She added to her professionalism by completing the Certified Nursing Assistant course in July 2009, showing her devotion to quality of care and teamwork. Kim expresses that she has enjoyed her years of professional and personal growth at Cedar Ridge Inn. She is looking forward to the joys and challenges of this work for years to come.
Dietary Director - Melinda Willie - Melinda is all smiles when she shares her excitement of her new position at Cedar Ridge Inn! Working in our Dietary Department for the past 8 1/2 years, Melinda knows exactly how our food service has provided nourishment for body and soul. "Being here - that's my family", Melinda explains. She especially loves being with the Navajo residents - "They appreciate it when I speak to them in Navajo". We are thankful to count on Melinda as a Navajo interpreter when needed, as well. Melinda's family is originally from Arizona but she came to live in Shiprock, New Mexico after her childhood in Idaho. She wishes to learn more through the Certified Dietary Manager program. Melinda is on the right track adding new excitement to dining with a potato bar and taco bar that the residents and staff love!
Maintenance Director - Mitch Mitchell - Mitch joined us in January 2011 as Assistant in the Maintenance Department. Mitch has been in construction work since age 15. With such a tough economy, he was wise to gain more peace of mind pursuing maintenance work. Mitch admits he took a chance - not sure whether he would make it in this elder care world. He not only expresses it in words, he also demonstrates it - He Loves It! Mitch has seven day per week coverage as his way to let the residents know their quality in life is most important. Mitch's wife has now joined our Cedar Ridge Inn family as our beautician. They have a sweet little daughter and have lots of family time with Mitch's commitment to caring for the property of both parents and in-laws. Mitch has become a darn good waiter since taking on this job! He loves his hour per day as waiter in the dining room. We feel very lucky to have this compassionate and skillful young man in our Cedar Ridge Inn family!
